Led the technical development of an Ethereum-based self-custody savings account that generated interest via Compound Finance. Self-custody was enabled on-chain via zero knowledge proofs.I developed a novel cryptographic solution that solved for decentralized authentication, designed our technical stack and architecture, and worked hands-on across the AWS-based stack: NextJS+Express, PostgreSQL (+Redis), Solidity (with ganache/truffle).

Academia.edu is the top social network for academics, boasting over 150 million users, at about 30% MAU. Its mission is to revolutionize academic publishing: create a modern, reliable peer review system, and establish a world of open access to scientific research.I led the work on many projects on the core revenue-generating premium business, bringing the company from having no revenue, to being profitable; I held responsibility for sensitive and critical infrastructure projects, contributed in full stack engineer, SRE, and team leadership roles, led hundreds of interviews, and helped hire a majority of the engineering team as of 2018.During my time there, we scaled up to >35 million MAU while maintaining a team of just 15 total engineers. Working at this scale with a team that lean required precision, creative problem solving, and taking personal responsibility for technical and business outcomes.

Us

Elevate is a cognitive training tool designed to build communication and analytical skills. It was the iOS App of the Year for 2014.I pioneered work on the cross-platform engine that powered our games (C++/Lua), and worked with designers, artists and content specialists to produce the polished interactions and UX flows that contributed to us attaining the App of the Year award. I led development on 8 of the 24 cognitive games that were part of the product as of December 2014.Elevate is a subsidiary of MindSnacks; many of the same people I worked with at MindSnacks were part of the Elevate team.

MindSnacks produced top-grossing educational games for iOS (ObjC/Cocos2D). As a game developer, I worked across our entire lifecycle of game production: from paper prototypes, to early digital iterations with play-testers, to working with artists and content writers bringing the games to life.

Airy Labs was a startup backed by Peter Thiel, producing educational games for children (iOS/Android), exploring the promise of interactive educational applications.My role was end-to-end engineering of games. Sadly, they are no longer playable off the app store!

Authored the entire code base for Shovel Heroes, a cross-platform isometric social game (iOS/Android).The management at Airy Labs reached out to Progrestar, thinking they could contract development of games to the team that wrote Shovel Heroes. But when they found out it was just me, they hired me and brought me to the US instead.

Worked on a social network catalogue for models in the fashion industry. Used Java to create an embeddable 3D client based on the jMe2 engine, and to create web pages based on GWT. Contributed code to the open source community of jMe2. I worked on this project my last few years of college. It was a great segue into the world of professional development, as I got experience with a real life production system, product development, sprints and product iteration.

Worked within IBM Rational's product cycle, familiarized with their software development tools - Rational Software Architect, ClearCase/ClearQuest. Got in-depth experience with Eclipse's architecture developing a plug-in for Rational Software Architect. Worked with Java, UML and various scripts (xml and perl-based).
