Currently I'm a part of a very large, spread-out team with a complex development process.We're working on a powerful software platform for the insurance industry. Comodo is one of the largest certificate authorities, issuing and certifying the authenticity of the certificates. CLIENT: own productA document workflow system of an enterprise or a government establishment. Web-based and built with help of J2EE-related frameworks.The part of a system I’m working on is responsible for generating MS doc/docx documents based on predefined templates plus an information provided by a user. The system is plugged into a number of document managing systems that are de-facto standards within the Northern Europe bureaucracy institutions (Corsa, Version etc). P.S. Before working in SmartDocuments I couln’t even imagine of how complex and versatile can the document generation be.PERSONAL ROLE• The business logic development related to the gathering and preprocessing of the information that is later on passed to the document generation sybsystem;• Implementation of the client part of the web-application.TOOLS USEDJava 6, GWT 2.2, Spring 3, StAX . CLIENT: The Wireless Circle Netherlands (http://thewirelesscircle.net/)Web-based system for managing users of a mobile operator. In fact, a classical MVC J2EE application allowing to perform a full cycle of a user management: registration/unregistration, creation of mobile services bundles, bonuses, working with tariffs etc.PERSONAL ROLE:I was temporary transferred to that project (from IBM) to help a project team before an approaching deadline.Overall I was involved for 3 months. My personal tasks were: GWT-based client side and creating some business logic on a server side.TOOLS:J2EE 6.0, GWT 2, JBoss 5, Postgress DB 9, IDE Eclipse.

CLIENT: IBM Corp (www.ibm.com)Remote monitoring and managing of corporate Web/J2EE infrastructure. The system gathers working parameters and user configured information of a bunch of monitored Web Servers and/or J2EE containers like Apache Web Server, IBM HTTP Server, JBoss, IIS, WebSphere, WebLogic, SAP. The parameters such as server status, availability, downloaded/uploaded traffic, CPU usage and many others. Server remote managing with a set of actions like start/stop/restart etc.PERSONAL ROLE:* I was involved in researching, designing and implementing the Apache Web Server monitoring subsystem. The subsystem consists of a low level Apache plug-in (library written in C) and an agent (written in Java). The plug-in gathers the Apache data and provides an interface to manage its work. The gathered data is transferred to the agent using the Shared Memory protocol. The agent, in its turn, communicates with the remote UI through TCP. In this part Java sockets and multithreading are extensively used.* Monitoring module for IBM WebSphere 6.x/7.x.* As the other part of the monitoring system, I've developed and implemented a TCP JMX connector. This standalone component (written in Java) translates the JMX commands to the remote MBeanServer using TCP protocol.* I was responsible for JUnit testing of all my parts of the project.* I was responsible for writing an architect documentation (specs, UML diagrams etc) for the developed modules.* Also, I did the whole system testing on multiple operating systems: Windows 2000/XP/2003, Linux (32/64), Unix (Solaris, AIX, HP, Red Hat).* Participated in: support of the previous versions (fixing defects and issuing patches), often in close cooperations with customers.* Developing ANT builds for sub-projects.TOOLS:J2SE 1.42/1.5 (JMX, TCP sockets, multithreading), ANT, XML, IBM Eclipse, MS Visual Studio 2003 (as IDE and a C compiler for plug-in library), WebSphere 6/7, Apache Web Server, VMWare, CMVC.

CLIENT: A private personA merchandising web portal. The system gathers and stores the offers made by a large variety of online shops to help clients to find the best offers (lower prices, quick delivery etc). Data is gathered by scraping the offer web pages and stored in Oracle DB. Plus a lot of services for registered users: online shop ratings, email notifications upon discounts etc.From the technical point of view, the system is a Froogle (froogle.google.com) + AJAX.PERSONAL ROLE:* I took part in designing and coding the server side class's hierarchy (Java). * I was writing all the jsp pages of the portal.* Added the AJAX support.* I was coding all the HTML and JavaScript script for the front end.* I was participant of the UI design group.TOOLS:J2EE, Struts, JSP, Servlets, AJAX, DHTML, XML/XSLT, Tomcat, IDEA IDE.

CLIENT: Asempra Technologies Inc (www.asempra.com)A corporate system to provide real-time data protection and recovery services. How it works: the special OS driver is installed on the network host being protected by the system. It captures all transaction events that change the host file system or supported application data (Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server). The changes are stored on the remote repository server. System administration and management are made with help of an intranet web portal overwhelming with its rich and sophisticated UI.PERSONAL ROLE:Implementing the spec screens of the web client of the administrative portal. The task was to create a web client fully emulating the standalone Windows application.TOOLS:C#, ASP.NET; since 01/2004 - DHTML (JavaScript, HTML, CSS), XML, Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 IDE, Bugzilla.

CLIENT: TelecardMixed software/hardware complex, designed for switching the citizens of Odessa city to pay for the services of the city (transport, parking, elevators etc) with contactless plastic cards. The software is a client/server with advanced UI, designed to operate with hand terminals. The Oracle DB is used to store the terminal data and USB ports (through a third party driver) to connect the terminals.PERSONAL ROLE* Designing and implementing the client workstation. Standalone UI client to read/write data from/to the terminals and sending it to the remove server.* I was responsible for designing the class hierarchy and UI of the client.* I also did some parts of coding with use of C++/STL concerning the creation of internal utility classes, implementing UI functionality and cooperation with the USB driver.TOOLSBorland C++ Builder 5, Oracle.

CLIENT: TelecardClient/server system for supporting a payphone stock. The software performed services like getting payphone statistics, setting parameters, reporting failures etc. The system consists of a few types of clients (workstations) like configurator (setting the whole system parameters), journal (software and hardware events) and so forth. The server is a Windows service coordinating the clients work and running MS SQL DB.PERSONAL ROLE:I was performing a projection and coding of two of the client types.
