Alex is a Delivery Director for IMPOWER which helps public service leaders to create better outcomes for less through working across system boundaries, embracing complexity and being led by local people. He is a Trustee of Alternative Futures Group and sits on the NHS Assembly. He co-chaired the Covid social care taskforce's advisory group on learning disability & autism, and chaired the NHS England, Dept. Health and Public Health England review of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector. Previously CEO Shared Lives Plus, the UK network for Shared Lives, Homeshare & Family by Family, and of Mayday Trust, which has now merged with Platfform. Alex Vice chaired Think Local Act Personal and was a Trustee at the Social Care Institute for Excellence. He is one of NESTA and The Observer’s Britain’s New Radicals. Alex was awarded an OBE for services to social care in the 2016 New Year's honours list.Alex's book, from Policy Press, is A new health and care system: escaping the invisible asylum.
