Part of a small team responsible for supporting the commercial and technical evaluation of projects (internal and external, including opportunity identification, ranking, due diligence and financial evaluation.

In my role as an evaluation metallurgist, I am responsible for evaluating new ore-bodies in the Greater Brockman region from a metallurgical standpoint. This involves organising test work regimes ranging from standard metallurgical drill core test work to more alternative materials handling tests, which have not yet been properly calibrated with respect to their impact on projects. On top of this, I carry out business case and scenario modelling. The modelling for a project led to capital savings in the order of tens of millions of dollars when two particular pieces of equipment were identified as redundant.I have also recently begun working on an input cost model to build into Rio Tinto’s internal value-in-use calculations relating to decarbonisation and green steel on a long-term basis. The model will allow for NPV calculations to be carried out more readily on green steel initiatives within the iron ore business.

Reporting to the senior metallurgist, I was responsible for identifying process improvements, providing cost-saving valuations for changes, and enacting changes to procurement strategies. This extended to liaising with suppliers to ensure quality assurance and specification requirements were being met, along with enacting process changes based on market observance.

Operating as the highest level of escalation for driver and rider issues, making decisions regarding their future viability and activity on the Uber platform.Towards the end of my tenure I participated in several projects in the community operations space, evaluating their viability from a range of perspectives, including legal and financial.

Delivering support services by assessing partner compliance, working with the Operations team to streamline their processes and integrating technological tools.I also worked on various projects in liaison with the legal, operations and leadership team regarding financial assistance and support to the driver partners.

During my engagement I was involved in a project designed to enhance process efficiency, with respect to the removal of impurities, of a natural gas liquefying facility in Melbourne's East. In doing this I was tasked with managing diverse stakeholders, coordinating project elements and engaging with different project departments as part of my role in a project management capacity.

In my role as a sales representative, I was responsible for forming relationships with key client managers, identifying sales and product mix opportunities and negotiating mutually beneficial agreements for both parties.
