Worked in Dr. Geoffrey Blake’s spectroscopy laboratory at Caltech.• Thesis: “Interleaved Terahertz Frequency Comb Spectroscopy of Gas Phase Molecules”• Built and developed a terahertz frequency comb spectrometer for use with gas-phase samples in a vacuum chamber. Improvements include sensitivity, spectral coverage, duty cycle.• Gained familiarity with lasers and optics handling and maintenance, including work inside a Titanium:Sapphire laser cavity.• Constructed and utilized various electronic circuits, including a microwave phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit, a stepper motor controller, direct digital synthesis (DDS) boards, etc.• Pioneered data collection and Fourier analysis techniques to achieve quantitative determination of relative line intensities, including analysis of sources of spectral noise in terahertz frequency combs and cepstral analysis.• Developed Python programs for interfacing with laboratory hardware, automation, data collection with an FPGA card, and analysis. • Upcoming Publications: “Terahertz Frequency Comb Spectroscopy of Methanol” (first author), “No-Moving-Parts linear Terahertz TDS systems using plasmonic emitters” (contributing author)

I have been the teaching assistant for Experimental Methods for Solar Energy Conversion (Chem 3x) taught by Dr. Jeff Mendez. As teaching assistant, my role was of co-instructor and has provided me the opportunity to practice implementing effective laboratory and experimental techniques and methods. I was involved in every area of teaching a laboratory class, including performing demos, supervising student's work, teaching appropriate safety, data collection and record keeping techniques, grading students' reports and answering students' questions during regular office hours.

Worked in Dr. Robert Sheridan’s physical organic chemistry research group at the University of Nevada, Reno.• Thesis “Synthesis and Photochemistry of Matrix-isolated orthobromobenzene(trifluoromethyl)carbene”• Employed organic and physical chemistry lab techniques, including organic synthesis, chromatography techniques• Performed Cryogenic matrix isolation• Performed IR, Uv/Vis, NMR and EPR spectroscopy• Troubleshot and calibrated laboratory instruments (HPLC, GC) in accordance with SOPs and in compliance with GLPs and GMPs• Analysed chemical content in various samples while quantifying types of contaminants• Prepared and maintained routine laboratory records including experiment logs and laboratory reports

Worked at the National Science Foundation through the Quality Education for Minorities Network. Mentor: Dr. Parag Chitnis.• Conducted a research project using an in-house big data platform to understand funding trends related to underrepresented minorities and international collaboration in science.
