Current
Chief Event Officer
As the Chief Event Officer for Tennis Australia, I led a talented team responsible for the planning and delivery of all Tennis Australia professional events, including the flagship Australian Open, which is held annually in summer over three weeks, with recent attendance reaching in excess of 1 million visitors. This included leading ongoing annual planning to drive the profitable growth of the AO, leading collaboration across departments, managing large-scale budgets to ensure resources are utilised prudently to ensure long-term commercial success, and playing a critical role in the management of the event experience to ensure amazing experiences for players, officials and fans. I was proud to manage a talented team that facilitated event delivery in partnership with key Government bodies, departments, suppliers, partners and international stakeholders.
Director Ao Operations
During my time as Director of AO Operations, I managed the planning and execution of the AO during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, including facilitating the arrival of thousands of international players and guests and managing the Biosecurity operations. Most importantly, I ensured that player, official and staff safety was prioritised whilst also maintaining a commitment to an outstanding player and fan experience. On a more functional level, I coordinated all AO precinct, venue and event operations whilst ensuring that all stakeholder and organisational objectives were achieved.
Head Of Ao Event Operations
In this role, I planned and led all event operations for the annual AO. One of my most notable outcomes during my time in this position was creating and growing strategic stakeholder partnerships with agencies, including the City of Melbourne, Victoria Police, the Department of Transport and Metro Trains, leveraging these to drive positive outcomes for the AO and its partners. Additionally, I reviewed and refined a host of operational and business processes to drive improved quality, productivity, and efficiencies for the event.
Strategic Advisor To The Ceo
In this role, I delivered high-quality and timely strategic advice to the CEO of Tennis Australia. I was responsible for the implementation and acceleration of the organisation's overall strategic objectives. During this time, I held a critical role with the Executive team, supporting strategic decisions and driving effective outcomes across the business, including the development of Tennis Australia’s strategy and other transformational initiatives.
Legal Counsel
As one of Tennis Australia’s in house lawyers, I prepared and delivered specialist advice and support to the business on critical matters including intellectual property, protection of commercial rights and risk minimisation. I also negotiated high-value agreements, including media rights, sponsorship, catering, ticketing, and technology. Additionally, I advised on the interpretation of international tennis regulations, including the ATP, WTA, ITF and Grand Slam Rules.
