Though I have a background in insurance marketing and administration...I have always regarded my specialty as direct response marketing which entails a whole lot of human and social understanding... why individuals and groups respond in the way they do within their particular context. I have been diligent in ensuring that I keep up with the fast pace technological changes affecting direct response marketing in the internet age, and the complex societal dynamics that influence people's values and behaviour.Today, I function mainly as a coach and mentor to business owners , general and marketing managers both in the insurance and non insurance field. The whole area of organisational management has become so wooded that businesses often need a third party to help clarify their vision and directions....show them how to create strategies and innovations that create shared values... and importantly are measurable to galvanize the entire organization and its stakeholders.During the Asian Crisis in that late 90s, together with some colleagues, I assisted many businesses in Asia to survive and subsequently prosper when good times returned. The post Asian Crisis has brought about different challenges as the global systemic order is pushed into a unprecedented state of flux....where rationalization often becomes "what's right" and emotions take centre stage often obliterating whatever rationality the still exists. As we enter the second millenium, shifts in the global order has become pronounced with economies in Asia, India, Africa and Eastern Europe rising while developed economies, which unfortunately includes Singapore, maturing and slowing. Western capitalisation which has hitherto powered global growth seems mired in it own constrains. Chinese and Asian technological development and Innovations accelerating the mad rush towards technological superiority .... the impact of Chinese Belt and Road initiatives are beginning to take centre stage. It is my mission to help businesses, their leaders and teams to successfully seek opportunities, grow and transform in this current state of flux, with a deep belief that business have to move from being merely profitable to being able to innovate, reinvent themselves to become impactful creators of values to benefit all people in their communities and society at large.
