Dr. Holman is a computational biologist with experience designing computational pipelines that apply machine learning, network modeling, statistical, and pathway analysis algorithms to mine high-content datasets, including genetic, genomic, next generation sequencing and clinical data, to facilitate new drug target identification and development of genetic signatures applicable to patient stratification and diagnosis. He is experienced in both industry and academic settings, focused on drug discovery, translational medicine, and systems biology, with specific expertise in the neurobiology of HIV replication, and in silico selection of novel drug targets. He is fluent in general-purpose programming and analysis languages including Perl, R and SQL, as well as domain-specific analysis tools, such as Cytoscape, Hyphy and TopHat/Cufflinks. Additionally, in the course of his work he has designed and implemented large SQL databases, both to facilitate in-house research, and for deployment of the publicly available HIV Brain Sequence Database.

Applied a hidden Markov model, clustering and other statistical tools to better characterize structure within the data, in order to describe the relationship between the profile symmetry and the mechanics of the integration reaction.
