• Completed PESAs, PSIs, and Phase I Reports for various developments and roadway improvements throughout Illinois and the Chicagoland area• Performed soil/groundwater sampling and waste profiling (CCDD, special, non-special, and hazardous) throughout Illinois and the Chicagoland area• Prepared required materials for LPC-662 and LPC-663 forms• Monitored hazardous lead levels suspended in the air as dust at active construction sites• Performed bench-scale wastewater treatment experiments to assess the removal of pollutants using lime and caustic soda and assess flocculent settling rates to aid engineers in designing a wastewater treatment system• Assisted biologist in bird, bee and rare plant surveys

Greater Chicago Area

• Implemented plant-based ecosystem restoration supporting native woodland, prairie, and wetland ecosystems throughout the Forest Preserve District of Cook County year-round and in all weather conditions• Removed invasive species using hand tools, brush cutters, chainsaws, herbicide application, and prescribed burns• Led a diverse group of volunteers during community and corporate restoration workdays• Collaborated with site stewards and resource management technicians in meetings objective-based restoration goals

During this time-frame I worked simultaneously on three projects as an academic hourly employee:1) Creating mounted glass fusions of USGS standard rock powders, verifying homogeneity of fusions with SEM-EDS and collecting/processing experimental LA-ICP-MS trace element data2) Trace Element analysis of Kenya Ochre glass fusions by LA-ICP-MS, as well as replicate Sr isotope analyses 3) Served as a TA for GEOL415/515 Field Course in Arizona and California in the Spring of 2017

Assisting in the monitoring, verification and accounting program of a field investigation to sequester CO2 in deep saline formations by aiding in geochemical lab work including: X-Ray Diffraction and Total Organic Carbon of shales/sandstone powders, SEM-EDS of shale and carbonate solid rock samples, Total Inorganic Carbon and alkalinity of groundwater samples, as well as gas chromatography of soil gas

Labeling and photographing rock/fossil specimens for database input, as well as arranging displays within the departmental museum
