Clothing and what I wore was always important to me, as far back as I remember. However, growing up in a flyover state in the midwest, I never thought a career in fashion would ever be where my path led. However, after following that passion on a whim to the Fashion Design program at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, before I knew it I had 5 years of retail experience, spending much of that time in leadership roles. After graduation, instead of going into an entry level design role as I had expected when I started school, I found my next great opportunity as the original Assistant Manager of local streetwear boutique, August. This was where I learned about the business side of the industry and honed my leadership and entrepreneurial skills. In many more ways than one, the two years I spent there was like my grad school. Currently, at Club Monaco I own the global line plans of theee categories. I also worked directly with our CMO to develop an elevated capsule to increase AIR and brand equity. In addition to my primary commitment as a merchant in men's shirts and knits at 'Club', I still work with August in a freelance role as a consultant to the store on sales projections, merchandising of the house label and buying for third party product.
