In this role I complete some general administrative tasks and ensure that COVID-19 safety procedures are followed by staff, patients and visitors.

I undertook this student placement as part of my final year Law Capstone unit. I was placed with the Mental Health Advocacy Practice and primarily assisted the team with research for Tribunal hearings related to Treatment Authorities and Forensic Orders. I worked alongside another intern to research and produce a brochure and factsheet series based on the Queensland Coronial system. The project was written in a culturally appropriate and sensitive way. The information within will assist Indigenous Australians, especially ATSILS clients, with navigating and understanding the coronial process.

I undertook a short research contract with the Strategy and Tactics team to assist with completion of a project for the National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council. I learnt how to code data, create pivot tables and navigate QPRIME.

I undertook a professional placement with the QPS State Intelligence Group. To complete my placement, I produced a literature review which examined a particular crime type and the effect of COVID-19 on prevalence, behaviours and trends. I also performed other small tasks such as assisting with the collation of research, and writing up research translations.

I worked as a proofreader of medico-legal reports. In this role I ensured that reports were of a high quality, accurate and able to be sent by close of business. During this time, I also undertook general reception and administrative duties.
