One of my first memories in school, is dressing up as a doctor for career day in 4th grade. I never ended up becoming a doctor, but at a young age, I knew I wanted to help people. I knew I wanted to help people when they were hurting, angry, and their most vulnerable. As I progressed throughout my education, I started to realize that my true calling was in Criminal Justice. With Criminal Justice, you can help people in various ways before, during, and after life altering events. I was only 14 years old when I realized my true calling in life, and I have strived to push myself in this career field since. At 16 years old, I started doing ride alongs with local law enforcement agencies. When I turned 17, I volunteered at a crime scene unit filing evidence logs. Over the course of five years, I worked my way up to processing crime scenes on my own. During these five years, I also obtained two Bachelor’s degrees and a minor. I received a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology, along with a minor in Human Services. Also, I worked part time as a funeral home assistant and security guard throughout college. As a funeral home assistant, I was able to specialize in after death care. I realized just how in important empathy, ethics, and compassion are in any career. I will always prioritize these skills throughout my personal and work life. These skills are the backbone of what helping people is truly about. I hope to continue my career in bettering the lives of people who are wronged. I aim to aid them in their pursuit of healing and justice, whiling guiding them towards peace.
