Lead the Worlds Team, a group of software developers, content creators, and game designers focused on Rosetta Stone's online communities. Redesigned our online game portal in preparation for the launch of our ReFLEX product in July 2011. Defined the feature set for ReFLEX World first release and oversaw the development efforts.

Worked as part of the Labs team on new R&D initiatives. Led an online classroom project, which was released as the Studio component of Rosetta Stone's TOTALe product in 2009. Defined how learners and coaches would interact with the online Studio player; determined the feature set for first release and worked with developers on their implementation; wrote and edited content, and directed the efforts of another content creator; defined our coach and coach manager profiles and helped set up the Studio coaching and success organizations. Recruited test subjects and conducted extensive testing prior to release.Set up the Social Media department at Rosetta Stone, leading a small team with the goal of improving our company's social media profile. Worked with others within the organization to launch the Rosetta Stone blog and get weekly contributors from within the organization, and created content for Facebook and Twitter outreach. October 2009-June 2010.Worked on the definition of the Rosetta World component of Rosetta Stone's new ReFLEX product. Created game prototypes and determined the feature set for World for ReFLEX first release. August 2010-January 2011.

Key contributor to Rosetta Stone's pedagogy and content models. Helped create the language development process for Rosetta Stone's Version 3 product initiative, setting direction for the Editorial Team, training language experts and photographers in Rosetta Stone pedagogy, reviewing and editing project content, and creating models for new products. Was promoted from Editor to Managing Editor in June 2006.

As Rosetta Stone Version 3 transitioned from a research project into production, there were multiple opportunities to gain experience in production-related tasks in preparation for V3 development. Created a Project Managers’ Manual for all future project managers. Planned and reported on ancillary material focus groups. Gained experience working with others to accomplish projects on time, including working with voicers, editors, and outside reviewers. Helped create a company newsletter.

Member of the original R&D team responsible for the vision for the Version 3 Rosetta Stone products. Created product prototypes, wrote scripts and test content, organized photo and video shoots, and conducted testing. Organized a model search in preparation for the production of Rosetta Stone's V3 products. Created a military product prototype in Arabic, writing scripts; hiring voice actors, translators, editors, and models; directing a video; and securing the help of James Madison University ROTC for photos.

Wrote for a Harvard-published guidebook company in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia. Researched and wrote articles and reviews for book publication. Honed my travel-writing technique and interpersonal skills while communicating with people with whom I often had no language in common.

Edited the Let’s Go Italy: 2005 travel guide. Wrote general book sections and edited region-specific copy. Hired and managed two Associate Editors and six Researcher-Writers. Extensive work planning researchers' trips and coordinating relations with overseas travel offices. Responded to any problems writers had while researching in Italy.

Wrote for a Harvard-published guidebook company in Italy and Malta, improving my researching abilities and writing articles and reviews for book publication while practicing my Italian.
