I am a singer/songwriter, guitar and uke player and I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music Therapy from Capilano University. In my internship, I specialized working with children and adolescents with physical and cognitive challenges, both in group and individual settings.I am self employed as a behavioural interventionist (Applied Behavioural Analysis and floor time) and also work casually with Fraser Health and Vancouver Health Authority on a casual basis. I'm looking forward to a career in music therapy, working with several populations, such as mental health and family centred care (I believe that it is incredibly important to provide support to clients as well as their family members.. I like to call it "care for the caregivers"!). I am extremely interested in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and combining Applied Behavioural Analysis and Music Therapy. I am also looking at exploring community Music Therapy, and hope to offer sessions in local community centres to those who may not be able to access services. I am a very active member of several music therapy groups and am one of the first students to be voted onto a committee in the Music Therapy Association of BC; I am currently on the External Relations and Advocacy Committee and am a social media representative for the association. I am extremely interested and dedicated to professional development to not only better myself but also to advocate for the profession.

Working as an ABA therapist with a five year old boy with Autism, implementing an individualized behavioural plan of interventions to help him improve his life skills and activities of daily living. Programs target short and long term memory, motor coordination, communication skills, reading and writing skills, physical and emotional regulation and emotional expression. The role includes collecting data, monitoring, recording and reviewing client progress with team members, and attending and collaborating in regularly scheduled team meetings and training sessions.
Coquitlam
Working as an ABA and floor time therapist with a four year old boy with Autism. The principle of floor time is that children learn through play, and that one can best engage with them when meeting them at their own developmental level. Interventions teach social and communication skills, as well numeracy and literacy skills, using art, dance, sports, music and exploration of the child’s natural environment, all of which are created to be fun and engaging for the child. As this was a family who’s child was newly diagnosed, support was also provided for sibling, parents and grandparents in order to help them learn how best to support their family member.
