I analyzed my clients' business processes to identify critical risk points to help them manage their tech risks efficiently. Primarily, I specialized in change management processes for large public tech companies so that their development teams could deliver the highest quality code as quickly as possible, focusing on CICD processes for microservices environments, where code was released multiple times per day across hundreds of thousands of VMs.

I founded Rent it EZ in 2013 to make life easier for landlords. We introduced the first AI to help landlords screen their applicants. I was responsible for everything from being lead developer and administrator of our cloud environment, to setting strategy and managing our compliance needs.Our business model responded to demonstrated customer needs, focused on simplicity and introduced innovative marketing methods. We introduced a holistic renter risk model to help landlords do a better job of vetting their candidates and we introduced our Renter Match guarantee, which used AI to determine an applicant’s fit for a property and made a rental recommendation to the landlord. I was responsible for securing funding, attracting team members and managing day-to-day operations. In addition, I was the primary developer for the site. I coded and designed our risk model for renters, and developed the AI that drove our decisioning tool for applications. I managed vendor compliance and third party risk reporting. I also designed and managed the PCI- compliant AWS cloud network.

As a member of the Process Assurance team within Risk Assurance, I worked with clients to analyze and evaluate internal control for both business processes and information technology as they relate to financial reporting and compliance.I worked with large fin-tech companies, including retail banking clients, asset management firms, hedge funds and fin-tech startups. I lead teams in the execution of SSAE 16 and Sarbanes-Oxley reviews. My responsibilities included oversight of the team, development of the engagement approach, quality control and reporting to internal and external senior management regarding progress, issues and budget performance. I liaise with client management to coordinate the execution of our work.

I worked at KeyBank as a member of Risk Review. Our group was responsible for evaluating internal controls over sensitive information systems. I primarily focused on IT controls and on the impact of new regulations relevant to the financial services industry.I very much enjoyed my time at Key Bank and I especially appreciated the wonderful people I worked with. I left Key Bank when I moved to Idaho, a great distance from the corporate offices.

I worked directly with client management (in both auditor and consultant roles) to diagnose and suggest resolution for complex reporting and compliance issues for Fortune 25 and 500 clients. I developed a dashboard to simplify management reporting on $4.5MM of client sales targets by segment. I was responsible for reporting results to management at regular bi-weekly meetings and pro-actively identifying any shortfalls. I also developed several engagement simplification tools to track budget usage and compliance that were subsequently published internally and adopted by other teams throughout the firm.I was responsible for evaluating guidance received from regulatory parties to determine impact on internal methodology. I prepared explanatory documents and presented the changes to both senior management and my peers. In addition, I was an internal instructor responsible for training new hires and presenting new and updated standards to the local market.I consistently surpassed billable hour targets and was rated as a superior performer in annual reviews.

I tested IT general controls and manual controls for SOX and SAS 70 audits as a member of the Systems & Process Assurance (SPA) team. I was selected for early promotion to Senior Associate.
