Worked with Monmouth’s Urban Coast Insitute to analyze sediment movement around Clam Cove Reserve. Currents around Clam Cove Reserve, a tidal marsh located in lower Barnegat Bay NJ, were analyzed to understand why the tidal marsh was deteriorating. To determine if tidal currents could transport sediment around Clam Cove Reserve, a Nortek Eco Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) was deployed and recorded data for three weeks. The findings from this study will help scientists better protect tidal marshes and assist barrier islands combat against sea level rise in the future.
