- Develop and lead web-based and in-person training sessions for veteran service officers and other attorneys representing veterans to educate them on laws related to disability benefits and recent court rulings that impact disability claims. - Perform legal research and draft memoranda and briefs for veterans at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.- Managed the development of NVLSP’s VA Benefit Identifier mobile app and web-based questionnaire. These tools will enable veterans and their family members to research and identify VA benefits available to them and determine which are best to apply for based on their individual circumstances. - Developed and ran the Board of Veterans’ Appeals Remand Project for Lawyers Serving Warriors, which includes screening cases for eligibility, placing cases, and mentoring and training attorneys from private law firms to write legal briefs.- Co-authored the Veterans Benefits Manual, the primary resource for advocates who help veterans and their families obtain benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

- Researched and prepared appellate decisions on various veteran’s issues as set forth under Title 38 of the U.S.C. and the C.F.R. including medical disability, character of discharge, competency, effective dates, pension, income, medical reimbursement, special monthly compensation, dependency and indemnity compensation, death benefits, waiver of debt, and education benefits.- Worked with Veteran Law Judges to conduct hearings at the Regional Offices, led trainings, and served as a liaison between the Veteran Service Organizations, veterans, Regional Office staff, and Veteran Law Judges.- Worked with Deputy Vice Chairman in compiling all of the Board’s trainings over several years for the Regional Offices to utilize for its staff training.- Mentored and trained new Board Attorneys and interns as part of their initial orientation program, all while keeping ahead of the required production schedule.

- Led VA benefits briefings as part of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP), Retiree TAP, and Disability TAP, as well as performed command briefings and individual counseling.- Served as a liaison between service members/veterans and the VA by researching, counseling, and briefing on all VA benefits, including health, disability, education and home loans. Worked directly with active duty personnel to educate them on their future benefits as assist with preparation for separation, either through an honorable discharge, retirement, or as part of a Medical Board or Administrative Board. - Worked with all levels of personnel within the Marines and Navy in publicizing VA benefits on AFN radio and through programs with military spouses and veteran groups.
