Homestead Growers sells a wide range of plant products to independent garden centers in the Mid-Atlantic area. I am the account manager for about $1.8 million in annual sales.More than doubled business in my first year adding over 25 new customers.In the last year I have acquired a new territory which added about $1 million in sales and I am now responsible for 130 accounts. Manage existing accounts and also recruit new ones each year from trade shows, cold calling, and referrals.Implemented various social media (Facebook, Twitter, blog) outlets to connect with customers; responsible for updating information and photos on a regular basis.On a weekly basis I create an availability (list of products for sale) to send out to each customer. I also work closely with our inventory system, SBI, to make sure we are selling through products in a timely matter. I am part of the production team that meets after each season to evaluate what we are offering to our customers. We add and remove products based on sales and what is new to the market. This requires knowledge of trends, colors, and new varieties for that year. Work closely with our shipping department to schedule trucks/deliveries each week. Design, set up and attend trade shows; MANTS (January), PANTS (July).Responsible for organizing my time and making travel arrangements. Weekly visits to clients to write orders and schedule shipments.

Valleybrook is a greenhouse grower specializing in growing and marketing perennials; I was responsible for all US sales totaling $1.5 million.Participated in creating new product lines and brainstorming ideas for marketing branded products.Provided seminars, classes, demonstrations, and staff training for clients to help promote products.Responsible for organizing my time and making my own travel arrangements; travel consisted of about 70% of my time. Monthly trips to the office in Ontario for sales meetings and various trade shows, conferences, and seminars throughout the year.Design, set up and attend four trade shows throughout the US and Canada.Responsible for coordinating shipping of product to customers from May through October.
