Patient Partner on PCORI funded research award: Measuring co-creation during the engagement process in research: A pathway forward

Review 20-25 research proposals per cycle from a patient and caregiver perspective. Evaluate and write detailed written critique of the proposal's patient centeredness, potential for study findings to be adopted and improve delivery of care, and partner engagement.

Review research primary studies funded by PCORI from a patient/caregiver perspective to ensure that the final research reports address real problems faced by patients, caregivers, clinicians, and others, and provide information that they can use to make better healthcare decisions.

PCORI Science Trained Ambassador:- Help build positive relationships with the healthcare community and work in partnership with other Ambassadors and healthcare professionals to promote research that incorporates the perspectives of patients and other stakeholders; -Demonstrate and support the PCOR principles of trust, transparency, co-learning, reciprocal relationships, partnerships, and honesty; -Active participant in a wider national network of PCOR;-Help disseminate PCORI research findings, surveys, polls, and calls for input and information;

Patient and Caregiver Advisor: Enhancing Systems of Care for Children with Medical Complexity HRSA/MCHB grant

Advise on the development of a Measure for Preventive Cancer Screening & Counseling Patient-Reported Outcome-based Performance Measure (PRO-PM) for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). The Techincial Expert Panel (TEP) provides input to help shape the approach to the PRO-PM including questions for the survey instrument, the target population and any exclusions, timing of when to administer the survey, the risk-adjustment approach, and the implementation strategy, among other key aspects of measure development.

The Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC) was established in the 21st Century Cures Act (P.L. 114-255) and is governed by the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), P.L. 92-463, as amended, 5 U.S.C. App. 2, which sets forth standards for the formation and use of federal advisory committees. The Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC) will recommend to the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, policies, standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria, relating to the implementation of a health information technology infrastructure, nationally and locally, that advances the electronic access, exchange, and use of health information. HITAC unifies the roles of, and replaces, the Health Information Technology Policy Committee and the Health Information Technology Standards Committee, as in existence before the date of the enactment of the 21st Century Cures Act.

Identify recommendations to support interoperability between pharmacy constituents, and the exchange of information necessary for medication management, patient safety and consumer engagement.

Overarching Charge:Review the existing set of ONC adopted standards and implementation specifications and make recommendations to maintain or phase out such standards and implementation specifications, as required by 42 U.S. Code § 300jj–13 (Setting priorities for standards adoption). The current set of ONC adopted standards and implementation specifications is maintained on the ONC Standards Hub.

Vision: Support the convergence of clinical and administrative data to improve data interoperability to support clinical care, reduce burden and improve efficiency—furthering implementation of “record once and reuse.”Overarching Charge: •Produce information and considerations related to the merging of clinical and administrative data, its transport structures, rules and protections, for electronic prior authorizations to support work underway, or yet to be initiated, to achieve the vision.•Leverage existing information from HITAC and NCVHS prior authorization hearings, and other sources, to inform the Task Force’s information acquisition and analysis efforts.

Family Engagement Consultant for the Pediatric Palliative Care Network of the Division for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs/Bureau of Family Health and Nutrition

Member of the Patient Advocate Advisory Network for Radiologyinfo.org which consults to the Radiology Society of North America and the American College of Radiology to provide insight to the committee's strategic planning and decision making as instrumental to the radiolgyinfo.org website content for patients and families.

Parent Partner/ PCORI funded research initiative that aims to use parent-generated data and develop a connected voice for parents to identify the barriers and share the experiences they encounter in obtaining care for their children with medical complexity to inform the direction for future research and advocacy initiatives. As a parent research partner I advised on all aspects of the study, facilitated focus groups with patients and other stakeholders, and was involved with dissemination of the results threw written papers and conference presentations.
