•Piloted and developed curriculum for a series of three professional development sessions to prepare six Community Reporting Fellows to be able to confidently speak about their fellowship experiences and projects to potential employers and pitch for contracted, freelancing opportunities • Ideated and implemented an Alumni Consulting Directory to re-engage alumni and streamline a more time efficient process for responding to external requests for digital marketing and live events coverage • Directed implementation of community listening sessions, two community events, Community Reporting Fellowship’s storytelling exhibit • Managed implantation of Community Reporting Fellowship recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes • Created social media posts and promotional fliers for digital marketing and outreach

•Directed, ideated, and executed hosting five community events to engage Black New Orleanians in reporting topics, such as mental health, narratives about Black boys and men, and Black maternal health, live in person, and introduce resources, such as a free sound bath therapy session led by a practitioner •Cultivated strong, intentional relationships with previous reporting interviewees and community organizers through community event co-facilitation and hostingExample: I hosted “Beaucoup Power in Storytelling” at Dream House Lounge, owned by Dr. David Wallace, a previous interviewee, and in collaboration with Nesby Phips, a community organizer and artist•Facilitated four community listening sessions to incorporate residents’ voices into reporting topic selection process by creative directing interviews with attendees at Treme Fest, Puentes’ Career Expo, YELP NOLA’s Mardi Gras tailgate, and a local high school’s career fair. • Managed planning, outreach, and implementation for one journalism and two photography workshops, where 17 community members received free, hands-on training in journalism and photography skills •Managed marketing and outreach, including social media management and designing marketing materials

In addition to general board member tasks, I’ve taken the initiative to voluntarily help increase brand visibility and awareness by nominating NOYA for a City Business Women of the Year and Nonprofit Organization Award, which NOYA was selected for in 2020, nominated the organization for two grants, and assisted in the recruitment and hiring process for the Director of Policy job and 2020 and 2022 Youth Leadership Fellowship application cycles. I currently am assisting with NOYA’s strategic planning process.

•Represent NOYA at meetings with coalitions and communities of practice related to restorative justice practices, mental health care, juvenile justice reform, and other youth-centered initiatives to advance influencing policy and decision-making •Co-facilitate and coordinate meetings with stakeholders and fellows alongside the Fellowship coordinator •Assist in all stages of creating the promotional videos for the policy platform, including conducting interviews, attend and provide creative direction at video shoots, and assist in post-production •Schedule interviews with local radio shows and media outlets to promote the policy platform•Create and upload social media posts for Rebuilding Our Village NOLA’s Instagram and Facebook•Contribute input using anti-racist and equitable lens to the 2021 CEO Blueprint for Racial Equity, a report developed by PolicyLink, FSG and Just Capital (see published report linked below)

Serving as an official Alumni Ambassador of the U.S. Department of State's Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program. Gilman Alumni Ambassadors have been trained to serve as official representatives of the Gilman Program. They provide testimonials about their Gilman Scholarship experiences at campus presentations and offer application tips via written articles, videos, webinars, and special events.

•Create promotional fliers highlighting programs in Africa and within the African diaspora and departmental scholarships to increase the number of students who study abroad in those countries •Review students’ study abroad applications for the spring 2023 cycle•Manage the department’s website by adding and editing content as needed•Check students in at Global Cafe, the departments weekly event •Supervise four Peer Advisors

•Coordinate interviews, and create and deliver a presentation about current issues in New Orleans •Assist with set up and conduct interviews at interview shoots to help two groups of graduate students report stories on challenges accessing natural hair care services and education for Black women and preserving Mardi Gras Indian culture post-pandemic

•Develop a target market, conduct outreach for participants, and facilitate one-on-one listening sessions with Black New Orleanians to gather research on what topics they want to read and listen to in media and through which mediums and determine Lede New Orleans’ next reporting topics

•Share university resources and events to help first-year students succeed •Facilitate meaningful and engaging class activities •Teach sessions about career readiness, time management, and goal setting •Recruit and host guest speakers•Hold out-of-class check-in meetings with students to see how their college transition is going

During convenings I prioritized the solutions proposed to improve youth voice and narrative; identified current efforts in place that support the solutions; drafted complete actions, measures, and accountability elements for the action strategies; and identified stakeholders for the Youth Master Plan

I collaborated to build out desired outcomes, indicators and metrics, and actionable strategies/steps that would lead to the desired outcomes within the Youth Voice category of Youth Master Plan alongside researchers, advocates, practitioners, other youth, and community members.

Develop a portfolio by applying taught set of foundational journalism and digital media skills, including interviewing, video editing, and photography, to grow as a community documenter and storyteller

•Participate in case studies to develop a critical social analysis of social issues including workforce development, health, criminal justice and juvenile justice•Participate in board governance training and critical social analysis training•Provide feedback to assist the Executive Director with developing NOYA’s Authentic Youth Engagement Training •Conduct interviews with hospitality and restaurant industry workers to address low wage and upward mobility challenges in the HRT industry in New Orleans; present a group proposed management track to help entry-level employees gain middle and high- level HRT jobs at our Fellowship Program’s Closing Reception
