Rebuilt all earned income, visitor services, and marketing functions to drive financial sustainability for major museum expansion. Led a team of nearly 200 staff and volunteers and managed a division budget of $5.8 million including: Food Service, Retail Shop, Graphic Design, Publications, Visitor Services, Community Affairs and Marketing. Rebranded the museum as a welcoming community resource and implemented new film and performing arts programming to draw new audiences.

Implemented enterprise-wide restructuring in preparation for major expansion. Revamped the Security, Performing Arts, Education, Finance, Food Service and Marketing departments by recruiting key personnel, constructively challenging the status quo, and encouraging experimentation. These changes facilitated the success of one of the museum’s best attended exhibition ever, serving over 300,000 visitors, and enabled the museum to exceed its earned revenue and attendance targets.

Joined this economic development foundation in its early stages and led capacity-building efforts to position the newly formed foundation for future growth and impact. Established investment policy for managing $300 million in cash reserves. Managed the biggest grant (at that time) in Foundation history, a $60 million biotech training consortium, which led to the creation of state of the art facilities and programs at North Carolina State, North Carolina Central and the North Carolina Community College System.
