Hardworking and driven, I am Alexis Wilson, and I am a proud Georgia State University first-generation graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Upon obtaining my degree, I joined the Law Offices of Kathleen Flynn as a legal assistant specializing in social security award cases for war veterans and later joining various grassroots campaigns and projects with the nonprofit organization, The Outreach Team. During my time with The Outreach Team, I led multiple voter registration campaigns with Get Out the Vote, Planned Parenthood, and with Stacey Abrams’ New Georgia Voter Project. I ended the campaign season as a Deputy Director for the 2020 Presidential election by making history in flipping the red Republican State of Georgia and, ultimately the House, blue during the Senate Runoffs for Rev. Raphael Warnock and Sen. Jon Ossoff. I've served as an Office Manager of Admin & Legislative Services within the Department of Finance for the City of Atlanta. I worked closely with the CFO, Enterprise Risk Management, Budget, Revenue Chiefs, City Council and Mayor’s Executive Offices playing pivotal roles in the preparation of budgets, managing contracts with the public vendors that conduct business with the City, assisting with legislation ahead of committee and full council meetings, along with assessing policy on a weekly basis. In January of 2024, I was appointed as the Executive Chair of the Founding Leadership Party of the Black Women’s Employee Resource Group for the City of Atlanta. I played a vital role in establishing our bylaws, cohort, and leading a successful organization launch gaining the membership over 120 City of Atlanta staff at the first event. It is my duty to advocate for equitable spaces to foster the personal and professional advancement of Black women and other underserved groups. With my leadership skills and passion for equitable spaces for all, I strive to add value to my community and uplift others as I continue to climb.
