In the Device team of a 200mm CMOS platform, in a operative context the main objectives of the job are:- Ensure the support of the production of ROIC products (ReadOut Integrated Circuit)- Animate plans for the implementation and the qualification of various process changes,- Find the root cause of process shift by using electrical data, in-line parameters, or morphologic analysis for yield improvement .- Participate to the development of new products or new BICMOS technology- Write reports for internal diffusion or external communications. A permanent interaction with process teams, planning, or quality team allow to achieve these missions.

With the outstanding development of the internet, it is essential to propose performant systems that support high speed transmission with low power consumption. In this context, the subject of my PhD is focused on silicon optical modulators, which transforms the electrical signal into a light signal. During my PhD, the improvement of the current modulator technology was performed by including process variations during the optimization process. Then, alternative solutions were proposed in order to obtain a more efficient component.This work is mainly focused on the developement of dedicate numerical tools (with Lumerical, Silvaco, and Matlab) to realise several type of electro-optical simulations, and create advanced compact model for the optimization of the component. The work also include the elaboration by CAD, the fabrication in clean room, and the characterization of different components
