As one of two Directors, I oversee all client interactions and lead over 40 caseworkers. My responsibilities include:• Recruiting and hiring all new caseworkers for the 2024-2025 academic year.• Determining officer placements for the 2024-2025 academic year.• Serving as a the initial point of contact for clients' legal concerns.• Leading legal research and client relations training sessions for new caseworkers.• Approving 10-15 final case reports per week, ranging from 10-20 pages.• Acting as a primary representative of the ASUC Student Legal Clinic on campus and within the ASUC organization.

As a VITA Education Manager, I educate student caseworkers on the latest IRS tax policies so that they may attain the necessary certifications to become a VITA tax preparer. Additionally, I will continue to support the VITA team overall.

Student-run legal clinic associated with UC Berkeley’s Student Union. The Clinic provides free and confidential legal research on a range of topics that are tailored to each client. Caseworkers provide a complete case report with information on the client’s rights and recommended legal paths. In the spring, certified caseworkers offer free tax-filing services to eligible community members through the IRS’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA).

Free tax preparation services are provided for members of the greater Berkeley and Bay Area community through the IRS' Volunteer Income Tax Preparation (VITA) program. As a VITA intern, I assisted the Student Legal Clinic's VITA team in correcting and transmitting returns to the IRS, as well as providing general support to student tax preparers.

As a Social Innovation Intern, I was tasked with:• Researching and drafting a landscape analysis on circular economies resulting in the recommendation of four nonprofit organizations for grant diligence• Engaging with six grantee partners throughout the partnership process through diligence conversations and annual call stewardship• Attending four off-site events with grantee partners, which entailed supporting preparation for site visits, service projects, and presentations• Presenting my research to company’s executive leadership and managing directors
