During my Master's and my PhD degrees I studied host cell signaling pathways regulating actin dynamics during invasion of the human parasite, Trypanosoma cruzi. In Mortara's lab (http://www.ecb.epm.br/~ramortara/) we were able to unveil novel mechanisms and proteins regulating actin filaments subverted by the extracellular amastigote forms of T. cruzi. During this period I got expertise in diverse cell and molecular techniques: Fluorescence and Confocal Microscopy, Live-cell Imaging, siRNAi and lentiviral shRNAi-mediated gene silecing, Western blotting and cell signaling. Thus far I have 13 articles published in indexed journals, 6 as first author. I am currently working on Pyroptotic extrusion of epithelial monolayer cells in Yap's lab(https://imb.uq.edu.au/cadherin-cell-cell-adhesion).
