My name is Alexis Brannon, and I've just graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biomedical Engineering from West Virginia University. My journey has been fueled by a passion for the life sciences, where I've developed strong root cause analysis strategies to solve complex challenges in the medical industry. One of my standout achievements displaying these skills was my senior capstone project in collaboration with a local hospital. Tasked by an ophthalmologist, my team and I designed a cutting-edge ocular medical device from scratch. This hands-on experience not only deepened my technical expertise in CAD/CAM software but also sharpened my problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in collaborative environments.Beyond academics, I've explored real-world application of this field as a volunteer in the Biomedical Engineering department of our local veteran's hospital. There, I gained invaluable insights into medical equipment maintenance, from initial assessments to troubleshooting and implementing effective solutions. This experience solidified my commitment to pursuing a career where I can make a tangible impact.
