Sadly LAID OFF ALONG W/ all other Employees due to VIRUS !! (or would probably still be there) cont...Intensive menu knowledge, so that confidence is built when approaching tables, answering questions and entering orders into the POS. Knowing every ingredient in each item whether it be entrée or lunch or even Sunday we had brunch. Don’t take this as a complaint but I have never had more sidework nor silverware, which I suppose in a positive manner can show me even harder worth ethic and knowing that I will get done everything that needs to be done! ! !
Front Desk Receptionist And Telemarketing
Duties: As one of my first jobs out of hospitality and restaurants this was at first a humbling and nervous/exciting feeling. Initially I thought I would just be answering phones but I enjoy being challenged and learned a lot, new things, filing, in charge of all phone calls & transferring, Security and ID'ing others as badge needed to enter main floors, and/or chek-in guests and customers. Keeping a file up to date on hundreds of employees. Work as a team player along with all employees especially those whom were up in the front office with me. Cleaning, training others, opening and closing my office. With the telemarketer aspect I was top 10 in Customer Service surveys ratings and supervisor's reviews etc out of tens of thousands of others, ranging from PA, NY & TX.. Dealing with not the "easiest people”, as in that line of work where you’re making the outgoing calls as far as billing can become uncomfortable but I learned the skills to talk to and understand these clients. Making a billing matter a comfortable subject with me on the other end of the phone trying to help it not be such a topic that keeps our customer feel anything besides calm and fully knowledgeable with what was going on with their accounts. Improving my people-skills and so much more! - Reason For Leaving: Began to further my education but left in great terms,
Bar Manager
Duties: I helped opened the restaurant / bar Bolero attached to the hotel in downtown Erie, The Avalon. I created cocktail menus, made specials daily, was the face on their Facebook page for my excellent “drink of the day”. I trained all of the bartenders. I took inventory, Responsibility of cash drawers as well as management, being a woman and leader that always tried using constructive criticism as well as positive reinforcement which I find highly important! Being a friend to most of my co workers yet holding their respect. I helped with the rest of the opening in other departments, worked “roar on the shore” main outside bar which is highly fast paced. Bringing drinks etc to certain hotel customers, working weddings and other events throughout The Avalon / Bolero. Being the only one to do certain things such as count bottles, make pots of my sangria, inventory etc I got the chance to show the owners my responsibility as well as trust as a worker. – Reason For Leaving: Job offer closer to where I was actually living at the time.
Bartender
Duties: (Supervisor: Natalie Barnes, General Manager (239) 989-0885)Creating regulars at my bar, it was important to me knowing my guest's name and drink upon arrival, Suggestive / Up-Selling food and beverage items. Answering all incoming calls, taking every to-go order or reservations. Taking care of "Service Bar" (all our servers drinks) Making sure my guest is greeted in a timely manner, checking on them properly/appropriately throughout meal. Honorably being chosen along with 1 other girl from our restaurant of 30 beautiful girls, to participate & model in the "Wing House Girl Calendar"! Working a high volume, fast pace bar, delivering handcrafted cocktails. My knowledge of various beers, liqueurs, wines, & liquors as well as specialty drinks introduced guests to new and exciting experiences. Setting up, stocking, taking down and cleaning the bar, bathrooms & restaurant. Cutting garnish fruit, monitoring alcohol content as well as ID's, while operating bar through peak hours. Holding down a very busy bar at the club I always had to be very quick, give suggestions and watch cues on overly intoxication - (Reason For Leaving: The corporate company had an insurance issue that affected our hours, not being able to work 19+ hours)
Lead Server
Duties: (Supervisor: Brian DiMartinis, General Manager (239) 936-9448)As only server on the floor for most shifts I was responsible for taking care of every guest in the establishment, even at high volumes while always giving my guests equal yet special attention. Run food, bartending and serving for banquet events, large & small, (baby and bridal showers, weddings, holiday parties etc.) With the utmost amount of professionalism while still being personable in a fine dining establishment. Providing bread & oil, lighting candles and taking action anywhere to accommodate for a comforting experience as directed. Giving detailed descriptions of our menu & specials, carrying large & small trays, ensuring a smooth shift using team work with co-workers & employers. Having wine knowledge I trained and performed wine presentation & service. Taking care of guests, building loyal regulars. Inventory. As a new restaurant I made a lot of changes, creating side work papers, enforcing them, training bartenders. Making the cocktail menu and specials, definitely an exciting achievement. I don't paint or draw, but hospitality and bartending is where my "art" comes out. I'm good at what I do and go above and beyond. If guest isn't sure of what they want I am great at up selling, holding good conversation. Being responsible for cash & key to restaurant. Having pleasure of seeing or hearing what regulars, strangers, customers have to review of their experience. - As acting Head Server, helping and checking off my assigned side work, making sure we're ready for each shift! - (Reason For Leaving: Going back to school at the time)
Hostess
Duties: (Supervisor: Matt Durst, Operating Partner (239) 498-6430 or (239) 839-4742)Answering phones, take reservations, to-go orders, pre-bus & bus tables, doing the same for my co-workers/teammates tables, make sure all drinks are always filled, handling cash registers, food prep, locate items requested by a guest or co-worker in need of assistance. Greet & seat guests with a smile, stock, clean, expedite. On call often. -- (Reason For Leaving: Independence from my father whom was my then manager)
