I'm now growing They Got Acquired, a media company that helps entrepreneurs sell their business. My previous company was a content company called The Write Life, which sold in early 2021.Until mid-2019, I was Executive Vice President of Content at The Penny Hoarder, a bootstrapped personal finance brand that sold in 2020 for $100 million. I spent four years working alongside the founder to scale the company from 3 employees to 100+, growing the audience to tens of millions of readers, and developing our brand reputation as a leader in media. I started my career in journalism, working as a reporter for the Houston Chronicle and U.S. News & World Report. Then I founded and grew a blog-management company, which was acquired by The Penny Hoarder in 2015.I live with my family an hour outside Washington, D.C., in a small West Virginia town called Harpers Ferry. We moved here a few years ago for a slower pace of life and hiking from our doorstep. If you see an opportunity to work together, the best way to get in touch is via email: alexis@TheyGotAcquired.com.
