About Alexis J. Sutterman

Hello! I support Brightline's state-wide policy work in pursuit of empowered communities and sustainable environments. Specifically, I advocate for climate and energy policies and programs that advance environmental justice. Climate change is not just a crisis, but also a signal and an opportunity for society to change course. Now is the time to collectively fight for a clean and healthy environment, while radically transforming systems that have long hurt low-income communities and communities of color. In the EJ movement, this is done by stopping the bad (stopping the fossil fuel economy that extracts from the land and from marginalized peoples), building the new (a clean and regenerative energy future based on caring and reciprocity), and changing the rules (drawing down and decentralizing power, bringing local communities agency and voice in shaping our collective futures). As the Zapatistas have long said, otro mundo es posible (another world is possible). I am honored and privileged to be in service of this vision every day.
