Dr. Alexis Lazanas studied Applied Informatics in Athens University of Economic and Business (B.Sc., 1996) and received his Doctoral Degree from University of Patras, Greece (Ph.D., 2008) in the field of Recommender Systems, Data Mining and Intermodal Transportation (2008). During his doctoral research he participated in large scale research projects in collaboration with other European Institutes and published a number of scientific articles in international journals and conferences’ proceedings. Since October 2017 he holds a Lab Lecturer position at Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics at University of Patras, Greece. He also taught in Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Patras as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the field of Information Systems Analysis and Design and as Software Developer – Special Analyst in various major companies in the private sector. His research interests are on the areas of Machine/Deep Learning Algorithms, Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Data/Web Mining, Internet Technologies & Applications and Hybrid Recommender Systems.Specialties: Python, Web Technologies, XML, .NET Framework, SQL Server Management, Oracle, VS C#, VB, Silverlight.
