About Alexis Mace, Pt, Dpt
I competed a Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. I completed my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Florida. During my education, I served the under/uninsured population of Gainesville through my work as the Physical Therapy Clinical Director for the UF Equal Access Clinic Network.I was a FSC student-athlete and double major in Exercise Science and Psychology in undergraduate. I designed, conducted, and published an exercise science-related research project before graduating and pursuing a path to further my passions for the human movement systems and mind. My 18-year softball career ended when I graduated from the NCAA DII school I played for in undergraduate and I have transitioned to coaching youth softball athletes.

UF PT EAC provides in-person and telehealth PT services to the under and uninsured population of Gainsville and Florida Pro Bono so they can access PT care. My weekly responsibilities included recruiting and scheduling volunteer clinicians and SPTs for clinic operations. I also screened and scheduled patients while providing them all the necessary information for the clinics in-person and telehealth formats. I worked closely with my Administrative Director to implement clinic policies and coordinated with the members of our team to complete large projects. I led strategic planning meetings, worked with faculty, and assisted our team with the clinics transition to a hybrid in-person and telehealth format following closure due to COVID.
