Providing interim CIO management during 2013 Alex ran ICT and Facilities. During this time it was necessary to realign these functions with the needs of this global business. I am responsible for Logica's Telecommunications strategy and the services delivered within Logica's Infrastructure Management business. I lead the team defining strategy, policy and vendor management to meet the business needs, optimise spend, identify the right strategic partners and innovate new IM services.I am responsible for transformation and operations of the Logica global enterprise network across datacentres, line of business application deployment and voice and collaboration technologies.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, Alex is responsible IS reporting, budgeting, communications and change management. Alex’s IS/IT approach follows promoting the value of information and IT to the organisation, especially information security, integrity and relevance. In achieving this infrastructure services are standardised; application and information services are simplified around a clear data model implemented using service orientated architectures; information is presented to users which is relevant through searching technologies.

Alex was the Group Infrastructure Manager for LogicaCMG, a global IT services organisation numbering 40,000 staff in over 40 countries. Alex’s role is within the CIO department with global and wide ranging responsibilities. Originating within a customer facing delivery community Alex’s background is in meeting business requirements with fit for purpose IT solutions. In recent years Alex has been at the forefront of LogicaCMG’s business change programmes establishing MIS and ICT governance as the organisation rapidly expanded, ICT strategy and major investment programmes. Alex has considerable IT and Management experience at enterprise level within global IT organisations. Working with both customers and internal business services Alex has defined strategy and policy helping shape investment and providing effective controls.

Responsible for the development of the Corporate Infrastructure of LogicaCMG involving management and governance of the Infrastructure for 22,000 employees. Following merger of Logica and CMG Alex formed LogicaCMG’s Infrastructure Development team comprising Senior Technical Architects and engineers delivering :• Implementation of worldwide Windows 2003 Active Directory and Exchange 2003 Messaging. Following user and mailbox migration these initiatives resulted in LogicaCMG having a globally integrated infrastructure and resulted in >£1m savings from legacy decommissioning. • Providing infrastructure solutions enabling LogicaCMG’s Sharepoint Portal Server with a cornerstone being the creation of a £4M LogicaCMG Application Hosting Centre in Wales based on IBM SAN and Fibre Channel technology. • Improving business Collaboration include Microsoft Live Communications Server, Windows Mobile Access, Microsoft Identity Integration Server and Microsoft Livemeeting.
