Worked as a retail assistant across all levels of the store, facilitating stock replenishment and customer service. I worked this job part-time for dependable earnings (outside of university demonstrating) to save in anticipation of the final unfunded period during my PhD.

As a vital member of the events team, I was in charge of setting the bar and drinks receptions. The part-time role was a great fit, funding my continued studies during my Master's degree. I was also in charge of the end of night finances, reporting to the manager directly.

This placement year entailed working closely as a team on cost improvement projects, resulting in significant cost savings year on year. Vast experience was attained in the Diagnostics industry ranging from assay development to statistical analysis. Close contacts with companies such as Sartorius, Pall and EMD Millipore were established, providing the resource essential to commercial success.

Whilst situated at Parkdean holiday park I worked across multiple venues, attaining valuable experience in communication and leadership skills. These were essential to the job and resulted in continuous part time employment for three years whilst continuing my studies. The ability to work as part of a team was paramount, and has transferred to all aspects of group work that I now undertake.
