Phoenix Space is a non-profit organisation focused on providing STEM education, based around the inspirational theme of space science, to refugee and disadvantaged students in the Middle East to improve their life opportunities.Since launching a week-long pilot class with in Istanbul during the summer of 2019, I have been assembling, writing and coordinating the delivery of educational material for our students in a number of courses. Many of our target audience lacks access to STEM teaching, and I am thankful for the opportunity to work with such a talented group of volunteers to deliver increasingly sophisticated courses, opportunities and hands-on learning experiences to our students .

I've taught all ages in all places, from teaching astrophotography in the freezing Rocky Mountain winter, to biology diving on coral reefs in Myanmar, from Cambridge entry exam preparation to building giant catapults for school projects I've taught hundreds of students and led them towards excellent academic futures.

Responsible for the internal organisation of the magazine society. This involved organising meetings and society procedures, social events, encouraging new members into the society and in the case of this year the 10-year anniversary exhibition and party. During my time there the magazine enjoyed its largest ever print run and won two awards, one for the best UCL publication.

Buying up old bikes to repair and then sell on over the summer. This involved using social media and contact with the university to both acquire old bikes and to advertise the refurbished items. This project eventually mutated into UCLU Bike Logic, a pop-up workshop on campus, and looks set to expand further with the addition of a permanent hub near the campus.
