As the graduate intern, I helped undergraduate biology/microbiology/marine science majors plan their schedules, study better, find research experiences, and plan for graduate school. I TA'd 3 different classes during my tenure at Cal Poly: Introductory Ecology and Evolution, Introduction to Organismal Form and Function, and Vertebrate Field Zoology. The first 2 were laboratory sections where I would usually lecture for 20 minutes to introduce the material, then facilitate activities for the rest of the time. The last one was a field based course in Santa Cruz California, where I learned just as much as the undergraduates while helping out the professor.
