In 2014 Chicago was one of eight stops on the World Triathlon Series which included stops in Auckland, Cape Town, Yokohama, London, Hamburg, Stockholm and Edmonton(Ca). In 2015 Chicago will serve as the Grand Final and Championship of the sport, hosting the best 150 Triathletes in the world as they prepare to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. The event will take place September 15-20, 2015 in Grant Park, Chicago, featuring 10 world championship races for: Elite Men & Women, Elite Paratriathlon, Under 23 Elite, Junior Elite & Championship Age Group. Over 7,000 athletes from 160 countries will compete in the event and attract over 100,000 spectators to the 6 day event.
