Represented hundreds of clients in Misdemeanor, Juvenile and Felony divisions for the Public Defender’s Office. Tried dozens of cases ranging from charges of driving without a license to Murder. Representation included hundreds of witness and client interviews, thousands of depositions and countless legal motions.

I was chosen as one of a select few attorneys to be provided with special training on the laws and procedures of first appearance and bond hearings. Was then appointed to cover hearings for clients charged with everything from juvenile proceedings to first degree murder. Mastered the requirements of numerous forms of pre-trial release, and secured the relase of hundreds of clients from jail.

Advise approximately 200 attorneys on immigration consequences of criminal convictions. Advise attorneys in Public Defender’s offices around Florida, as well as train members of both the Public Interest and Private Defense Bar. Personally, reviewed over 9,000 clients for potential immigration consequences ranging from local ordinance violations to capital murder and from over 115 different countriesWe are the point of contact advisers for Public Defender’s Offices throughout the State of Florida – meaning we handle and train public defenders throughout the statePoint of contact in the Office of the Public Defender for all Miami-Dade Immigration Detainers monitoring and litigation matters related to the recent re-initiation of immigration detainersConsulate/Embassy Coordinator in charge of all contacting and coordinating representation with Consulates and Embassies of foreign national clients, personally coordinated inmate visits, bond release and passport issues for clients from over twenty different nations

Drafted motions on behalf of half a dozen multinational corporations in federal international trademark and copyright defense litigation. Cases were against Chinese criminal syndicates producing and trafficking counterfeit goods sold over the internet. Investigated websites to find clandestine webmasters. Drafted and filed complaints in U.S. Federal Court.

Represented clients in the County Court Jail Division where all clients were incarcerated prior to trial. Maintained a caseload as a Certified Legal Intern that averaged 100 clients at a time. Researched, drafted, and argued dozens of motions.Tried seven jury trials and four bench trials where the State of Florida sought jail. Advised hundreds of clients of the immigration consequences of their criminal charges.Represented clients in misdemeanor cases where a guilty verdict would violate their probation and result in a jail sentence.
