Led product engineering at Commonstock, where I was responsible for the web and mobile experience for social network for retail investors. I led hiring + recruiting for the product engineering team, worked closely with the head of product and CEO to develop and bring product initiatives to life.

Worked with a variety of clients across industries and domains to deliver high-availability software built to meet the demands of the business.Built production systems in Ruby, Node, Go, iOS (objective-c and swift), React, and a variety of frontend javascript technologies.Some examples of client work:- Nationbuilder: Extracted high-availability events service in 3 months (Go, Cassandra) from Rails monolith to address data growth challenges, serving as test pilot for broad initiative to move from monolith to services architecture.- Mobile Gaming Startup: Led architecture and development of analytics pipeline & event tracking API (Node JS, AWS Redshift and Lambda). Coordinated architecture implementation with game developers and backend team.- Convoz: Architected, built and deployed REST API (NodeJS/MongoDB) and iOS app for mobile video app. Provided ongoing guidance to exec team on product, engineering, key early hires, and other early-stage challenges.- Mobile Date-Planning Startup: Full-stack development for a mobile date-planning startup. Built iOS app (Objective-C) and backend API with Ruby on Rails and Postgres.
