The China-Canada Commercialization & Acceleration Network (C2CAN) is a collaborative platform between SFU VentureLabs, The China Canada Cleantech Innovation Centre (CCCIC), Tsinghua Holdings and Hanhai Holdings and supports the acceleration and commercialization of Canadian and Chinese technology companies that work to solve some of our world’s most pressing issues in health, medicine and sustainability. I provide legal assistance and advise C2CAN as to the Canadian legal milieu in addition to other assistance as required.

In this position, my general responsibilities included include general litigation, insurance defense, personal injury, construction law, employment law, and accident benefits with some exposure to medical malpractice litigation, transportation law and municipal law. Here, I was a part within a SSHRC sponsored research study headed by Professor David McGraine with respect to Social Democracy in Canada. I provide literature reviews, analyze Canadian Parliamentary debates between 2004 and 2015, and conduct research on legislative perspectives of legislators. I also assisted in promoting efficiency in the research by creating a database in order to keep and organize multiple datasets easily.

I provided assistance to the Associate Director, Dr. Jessica Senehi, with grant requests, academic research, office assistance, and event management. I was the point-person with individuals regarding SSHRC grant applications in addition to providing the coordination of advertising for the Winnipeg International Storytelling Festival and the profiles of University of Manitoba Peace and Conflict students. I also provided assistance in photography, website, and graphic design, and generated proposals for more social media advertising.

I provided continuous support by email, advising and instructing students on curriculum and providing support in the full-cycle writing and editing process for POLS 110 undergraduate class of Queen's University. I also was a tutorial leader two times a week, where I had to facilitate a conversation of the weeks material to approximately 40 students.
