The seed idea that produced Forward FX was simple, build a brokerage that put the client journey and adding value at the centre of everything it does. As fintech and huge NYSE listed companies become more prominent in the FX and payments world Forward FX still believes that providing personal, client centred service is what most SMEs want, and need. Alex has deep experience working with complex clients in the family office, wealth management, insurance and fiduciary space that need more than a platform, they need a partner.

Having left AFEX 3years ago to develop my skills and experience I was invited back to take the lead on our work within the London Insurance market, which I started in my first stint.My aim is to develop AFEXs place in the market and become a thought leader in the space to bring more and more value to our clients and prospective clients, in the UK and Europe.

Joined a small brokerage as they attempted to transition to a digital payments platform after receiving some outside investment. Was personally responsible for more than doubling the corporate revenue in the year I was there. Recruited and trained a small sales and dealing team and helped scale up the new London office. Left as they failed to launch MVP.

As a business development manager at Cambridge Global Payments my role is focussed around developing a network in a few core verticals to allow me to bring the the full range of Cambridge's technology solutions and hedging products to serve the full range of a clients FX management and payments requirements.

I worked at AFEX for just under 5 years and developed strong experience of working in the London insurance market, fund portfolios, media industry and manufacturing. I successfully achieved a range of targets.

Green Turtle Lodge is one the most successful and best known beach lodges in West Africa, and certainly the best known in Ghana. Aimed at the traveller and mid-level budget visitor it has a capacity of 75 guests and employs over thirty staff from the local community. The CSR strategy of Green Turtle Lodge is very much its raison d'etre so this side of the work fit well with my international development background and allowed me to build on pre-existing skills. Furthermore, being based in what is very much a geographically remote location and being in close proximity to an extremely economically deprived community and I have had the opportunity to work closely with the community and it's leaders to help implement activities that benefit them as whole.

They work at great personal risk to prevent, resolve and heal conflicts in some of the world’s most fragile countries.We find these local peacebuilders, fund their programmes to increase their impact, and promote their work to those in the wider world who can help with finance and influence."This is the central belief of Peace Direct and informs all of their activities and it is incredibly successful at what it does; having won recognition and awards from the industry from it was first formed in 2005.My role at Peace Direct was trust and foundation fundraiser where I compiled bids and reports to a range of funders; from small family charitable trusts to corporate foundations. I also wrote bids to Comic Relief and co-wrote a bid to the DfiD GPAF fund.I entered successful applications to funders not just in the UK but also the USA and mainland Europe and maintained a good success rate in what was a difficult climate for trust and foundation fundraising. At Peace Direct I built on my reporting skills and worked closely with the programmes team to ensure suitable M&E mechanisms were built into projects so that we could suitable report to the funders.

Operation WellFound is a small international water charity that provides clean, safe drinking water and sanitation services to people in the developing world.After initially joining as the only fundraiser I went on to lead a small team of both full time staff and volunteers. My main duties were to grow and develop our voluntary income streams although my work also included field visits and improving communication between the project partners in Africa and ourselves.I was successful in dramatically increasing the donations received from almost every revenue source; be it trusts and foundations, schools, churches, individuals, businesses and statutory bodies. When on field trips to Africa my main duties were project evaluation as well as researching different approaches we could take to improve the quality and effectiveness of our projects. I also collected information, pictures, video, stories and other materials to support and improve our fundraising activities. Working with our local partners in country I also altered the way they produce project proposals to enable information to be more easily extrapolated for funding proposals and marketing initiatives.

I provided fundraising consultancy services for Seeducation during the early stages of its creation. Working with the founders and communications team we developed ideas for the website, activities, pitches and services with a good deal of success. As I was still employed at Operation WellFound and committed to the role this was only ever intended to be a short term and part time appointment but was one I thoroughly enjoyed. I still keep in close contact with the team and provide advice and support on an ad hoc basis.Seeducation is a network of people of care about Education. They have 3 main objectives: 1.
