About Alex Lamon

I am an award winning teacher, a presenter, professional development expert, and a published author. I teach various business and economics subjects, including AP Economics, Personal Finance and Investing. My objective is to engage students in their own learning, because every student should leave high school with personal finance skills and economic literacy. I believe in effectively implementing educational technology to better reach my students. Most importantly, I am a learner.I serve as the lead teacher in the largest business education department at the secondary education level in New Jersey. In my role I serve on hiring committees, mentor new teachers and manage enrollment and marketing for the department. I have created and written curricula for courses in finance, economics, entrepreneurship and marketing. Working with students outside the classroom is a joy. I coach our high achieving Mock Trial team and run programming for our school's business honor society.I'm proud to provide in person and online webinars to teachers worldwide through my work as a Master Teacher for the Council for Economic Education. My work as a teacher of teachers extends to my presentations at national and state education conferences, speaking at several each year.
