• Part of the project “Lucretius: Foundations for Software Evolution” aimed at developing a framework for RE for evolving systems, focusing on adaptive systems and compliance.• Developed and implemented a requirements-driven methodology for self-adaptive software systems (SAS).• To help specify and analyze evolving systems, developed the novel idea of software evolution requirements.• Performed document analysis and interviewed SMEs to create requirements models for SAS in a number of domains. Co-developed system prototypes and simulations to validate the approach.

• To support the development of adaptive systems, proposed awareness requirements that capture desired success rates for objectives (KPIs) and are used to derive monitoring and control requirements for self-adaptive systems (SAS).• Adapted the system identification process to RE for adaptive systems, allowing for qualitative modeling of relationships between system parameters and KPIs to identify appropriate system reconfiguration options.

• The work was performed at the Dept. of Computer Science.• Developed an influential requirements-driven approach for engineering adaptive software systems and BPs.• To help produce specifications for complex customizable and/or adaptive systems from requirements, developed a method for a semi-automatic generation of flexible system designs (captured using statecharts, feature models for product configuration, and software architectures) from requirements models.• Developed a goal-driven method and tools to make BP (re)configuration accessible to non-technical users, based on their preferences over quality criteria (KPIs). Given user priorities, requirements models were used at process deployment time or at runtime to automatically identify and execute suitable BP configurations.• Elicited BP configuration/customization needs from users through interviews and requirements work-shops. Acted as a facilitator. Developed a technical requirements specification for the implementation.• Presented prototypes and UI mockups to stakeholders for review.
