Alex has been working in PR and communications for over 18 years, the last nine specialising in integrated marketing campaigns spanning earned media, influencer engagement, and content creation. As a General Manager of Mango Communications, Alex brings extensive communications experience across the sports, automotive, energy, beverage, and consumer technology space.In this role, he acts as a senior client strategist for brands including New Balance, Asahi & the A-Leagues and works with the wider DDB team to devise effective earned-centric communication strategies and manage all elements of campaign implementation across multiple channels.In addition, Alex leads on all operational elements of the Mango business in Melbourne. This includes fee forecasting and P&L management, talent engagement and retention and new business prospecting.In his previous role as Director of Brand at Edelman, he led integrated communications campaigns for clients including Shell, HP Inc and Royal Enfield, with a focus on social-by-design campaigns. In addition, Alex led a number of Diversity & Inclusion initiatives including the development of Edelman's first Reconciliation Action Plan and significant updates to various gender equality policies.Alex has extensive experience in Crisis Management, providing strategic counsel and tactical support both locally and internationally. He has managed a range of issues including product recalls, plant explosions, and litigation from across the beverage, healthcare, and oil & gas industries.In his role at the UK digital PR specialist, Shiny Red, Alex was responsible for the creation and implementation of award-winning campaigns for Pfizer Viagra (Sabre and Communiqué) and Cobra Beer (Reputation Online), as well as management of social media campaigns for Coors Light, Grolsch, and American Express.Prior to Shiny Red Alex worked at Hill & Knowlton London as a Social Media Consultant working across brands such as Pampers, Nissan, Gillette, and Tango, a campaign which was nominated for a Cannes PR Lion.Outside of his day-to-day role, Alex has lectured at the University of Melbourne, teaching an advanced practice module for the Masters of Marketing Communications degree.Alex holds a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Sussex and an MSc in Marketing from the University of East Anglia.
