Goal: To find fun and interesting employment where I can not only develop my abilties, but actively engage and benefit a firm and community as a responsible designer.About Me: I do my best to pursue every opportunity to the best of my ability, making sure that my educational campus has no bounds. I've taken my studies to multiple locations including Italy, Africa, and inner-city Cincinnati. These experiences have been a precious asset to my education, and ultimately the development of my abilities. While in Ghana, I didn’t just work in a team to design and build a classroom, but I participated in an exchange of culture, experience, and growth. I've also lived and studied in Over-the-Rhine, an inner-city neighborhood considered to be the most significant example of Italianate architecture in the US. During the semester, we worked as a design/build studio to address the issues of social responsibility in design and redevelopment. This semester however, was pivotal in that we didn’t just study the neighborhood, but became a part of it.I learn quickly and am proficient in many softwares, but I am also careful not to use digital media as a crutch. Rather, I see it as a tool capable of enhancing our understanding and communication of design, which I believe is important in keeping a project fluid and inspired from massing to detail. Since I was very young, I’ve loved working with my hands and have honed my skills in techniques such as marker, watercolor, and especially model building. I am also involved with various student organizations, including serving on the executive board of the American Institute of Architecture Students for four years.
