I joined Labour's Digital Organising team for the General Election campaign, helping recruit volunteers online to go and campaign on the doorstep. To do that, I helped deliver Labour's SMS mobilisation programme and optimised conversion rates on volunteer recruitment & turnout platforms.

I led the Labour Party's email team in the run up to the 2015 General Election. Our team was responsible for Labour's online fundraising and volunteer recruitment work.My responsibilities included:- Drafting and editing emails- Coming up with and executing creative online tactics- Planning and managing Labour's email calendar- Managing a team of five to send out up to four different emails a day at peak volume- Managing development work to support the email programme- Overseeing our online testing and optimisation programmeKey achievements:- Our team raised over £3 million online ahead of the election, setting a record for a political party in Europe- We recruited over 100,000 volunteers online- We created innovative, boundary-pushing online tactics such as the "NHS baby number" microsite (www.labour.org.uk/index.php/nhs-birthday/birthday.html)

I established and ran the Labour Party's digital testing and analytics programme. My goal was to increase the performance of the Labour digital team's online activity - primarily fundraising, supporter recruitment and volunteer recruitment. Responsibilities included:- Helping build a culture of innovation and data-driven decision making within the digital programme- Setting up data tracking and reporting processes- Devising, running, analysing and reporting on tests- Creating growth and fundraising projections to help guide team strategyI ran, analysed and documented dozens of tests over the course of 9 months, which increased the performance of our digital output by 5% cumulatively each month.

My role was to first set up and then manage 38 Degrees' new Campaigns By You platform (https://you.38degrees.org.uk/).First, I worked with the tech provider Control Shift to get their platform up and running for 38 Degrees. From then on, my role was focussed on three key goals:- Defining the purpose and USP of the platform - Getting members of the public to set up petitions on Campaigns By You- Working with petition starters to help them run - and win - their campaignsKey achievements:Initially working solo, I grew the Campaigns By You team I managed to five. Within 12 months, Campaigns By You was accounting for over 80% of the new members joining 38 Degrees. We helped petition starters win dozens of campaigns through the platform, most notably a campaign to stop the government from building a new nuclear waste store inside the Lake District National Park.
