Alex Lo is an accomplished film and television producer whose work has resonated with audiences worldwide. His extensive portfolio has been seen everywhere from NBC’s TODAY Show, to the United Nations, to the private cinema at the White House.Lo, along with Director Richard Lui, was the driving force behind “UNCONDITIONAL”, a groundbreaking 7-year long effort shedding light on caregiver’s mental health. It is the most widely-distributed documentary of 2023. In a historic first, “UNCONDITIONAL” was screened at the U.S. Capitol for Members of Congress, at the United Nations Headquarters, and at the White House by the First Lady. Passionate about diversity in production, Alex led the recruitment of a 150-person team, including luminaries Maria Shriver and Montel Williams. Lo also contributes to the Advisory Panel of inclusion@work, launching a series of workplace risk reports in Davos during the World Economic Forum.Lo made his producing debut with the $3.1M documentary feature “Sky Blossom”, on children caring for military veterans with disabilities. The film premiered at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and was met with critical acclaim including the prestigious Christopher Award and an Academy Awards qualification. Lo has negotiated distribution deals with Peacock, American Public Television/PBS, produced top-rated broadcasts for MSNBC, and forged an unprecedented community partnership between Universal Pictures Distribution and AMC Theatres to release his films in all 50 U.S. states. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA).Lo is a seasoned journalist, currently at NBC News National. Lo’s team Emmy-nominated reporting, including on technology, markets and trade, guides breaking coverage on NBC’s TODAY Show, Nightly News, and MSNBC. Lo is an active supporter of the Asian American Journalists Association and serves on the Advisory Board of its JCamp youth program.Lo also spent four years in sports broadcasting as part of the control room crew for NBA and NHL games at Boston’s TD Garden. He is fluent in three languages and graduated with honors from Boston University.
