As land manager, I created and maintained herb, flower and forest gardens. This included planting trees, building a terrace garden, bramble bays, living willow fedges, hazel fencing, sowing and scything wildflower meadow. I built and managed a compost heap area / chicken coop. I coordinated volunteers in practical tasks, such as weeding, mulching, planting and harvesting. I led environmental education activities for school and family groups, including foraging walks, shelter building and compost making workshops.I was also part of the catering team providing vegan food for youth groups and events, including a wedding party.

I managed a low-maintenance edible biodiverse community garden spaces modelled on forest gardening principles. I led volunteer gardening days, which included constructing raised beds, planting hedges, weeding, pruning and scything the meadow. I worked on the construction of an eco-friendly roundhouse, using strawbale and cob, which boosted my carpentry skills. I helped at community events, setting up the space for the public and cooking with the cob oven.

I planned and delivered after-school sessions on forest gardening and organic veg growing, including planting herbs, making compost bottles, newspaper pots for growing, seed balls and pesto from foraged edible leaves.

Watford, England, United Kingdom

I set up the Green Gym in Watford, a successful health-based conservation project for the local community. This was a partnership project with the Harlequin Shopping Centre and delivered greenspace enhancement alongside the River Colne on behalf of Watford Borough Council. I facilitated volunteer groups in a variety of tasks, including planting trees, wildflowers and hedges, improving footpaths, constructing otter holts, implementing river erosion mitigation, controlling invasive weeds, building dead hedges, maintaining reedbed and meadows.

As Community Project Officer, based in Haringey, I planned and delivered environmental education to school groups, organised community planting events, led guided health walks and managed a garden construction project.As a Volunteer Officer with the Biodiversity Action Team, I recruited and managed groups of volunteers in practical conservation day projects and working holidays. I liaised with clients and project partners, conducted risk assessment and wrote report.
