I served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Armando O. Bonilla. In this part-time role, I was assigned cases to work on, from briefing the issues to drafting the orders. I also had the opportunity to observe status conferences and arbitration sessions. It was an honor and a pleasure to spend the semester working for Judge Bonilla!

I served as a legal intern at D.H.H.S., Office of the General Counsel, General Law Division. I drafted memoranda and motions for ongoing and anticipated litigation in the fields of employment law and medical malpractice. I coordinated my work with supervising attorneys, but worked largely autonomously with occasional check-in meetings.

As the Legal Technology Assistant, I worked at the intersection of IT, litigation, and administration. I worked diligently to perform e-discovery tasks, database queries, and database management. I also served in an organizational role, helping to standardize office practices surrounding the use of technology and maintaining the secure storage of sensitive data. This role challenged me to adapt to problems at the quick pace of litigation, and I was proud to frequently be the first point of contact for coworkers when new problems arose.

I volunteered my time as an intern at The Borgen Project, where I worked to advocate for the world's poorest people. I am proud to have helped champion the cause of global development funding in the U.S. Congress.

As a cashier, I focused on creating a warm, welcoming environment for customers and helping guide them through the menu, offering suggestions and advice when needed. I pride myself on being a team player and assisted wherever help was needed in the restaurant.

As a research intern, I worked with a staff scientist at the National Synchrotron Light Source II to plan, execute, and present a project for the Science Undergraduate Research Internship program. I worked independently on a Python project focused on simulation of synchrotron emission as part of the OSCARS package (oscars.bnl.gov).

Tacoma, Washington

My undergraduate thesis project used computational methods to test fluid dynamical models for microscopic sessile suspension feeders in order to determine whether a point-force ("stokeslet") model for these feeders is sufficient to calculate their nutrient uptake. This project began as a summer research project and evolved into a full year project culminating in a thesis paper.

I worked as a customer-facing member of the Diner team. My responsibilities included preparing meals in accordance with custom orders, helping to maintain the stock of ingredients, and--of course--exceeding standards for friendliness, cleanliness, and efficiency. The work was mostly collaborative, but sometimes required me to manage my station independently; I became adept at handling both situations.

As an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for the Computer Science and Engineering program, I taught a weekly tutorial section of approximately 20 students where we covered material from lecture in depth, had weekly shifts at the Introductory Programming Lab where I helped students write their own code for homework assignments, and graded homework and exams both independently and in collaboration with my fellow Undergraduate Teaching Assistants.
