I learned I didn't want to be a hospital administrator on the first day of my hospital administrator training as an Administrative Fellow. 🤷♂️It was hard to articulate, but I knew most care should end up out of hospitals and into homes. I knew instead of more hospital beds we needed safer cars and roads, playgrounds, and spaces where we live, work, and play. I knew instead of medical records we needed personalized information on every person we served - from genetic code and zip code to daily habits. This led me to strategy and consumer-focused roles at Geisinger Health Plan, Blue Cross NC, and now the creator of the data analytics category and a global force for good as a private software company - SAS.Along the way, two friends and I saw a gap in events making an impact - so we created the annual "Young Health Leader Summit", a 3-day event in a different city every year built around a first-of-its-kind 24-hour Community Impact Competition.
