Provided independent financial advice to corporates and private equity investors seeking to buy or sell businesses, raise new finance or improve the efficiency of the funding on their capital structure.In September 2015 I won the 'Young Dealmaker of the Year' award at the Insider North East Dealmakers Awards.Some of the deals I worked on included: - Advising NorthEdge Capital and the Management of Fine Industries, a leading European contract manufacturer of high quality products and solutions used in the chemical and life sciences industries, on its sale for £103m to China based Lianhe Chemicals Company Ltd.- Advising the shareholders of WH Partnership, a leading independent, fully integrated process design and engineering company with a focus on sterile processing environments and manufacturing facilities, on its sale to Northern based Private Equity firm Endless LLP.- Advising the shareholders of Consett based CAV Aerospace, a leading global designer, manufacturer and Tier 1 aerostructures supplier, on its sale to London based private equity house, Better Capital, in a deal which saw £40 million investment into the business.- Advising Silverfleet Capital, the European private equity firm, on its sale of Aesica Pharmaceuticals, a leading European pharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), for £230 million to Consort Medical plc, an international healthcare company listed on the London Stock Exchange.- Advising Advanced Electronics Limited, a leading fire systems manufacturer based in Cramlington, on its sale for £14.1 million plus deferred consideration of up to £10.1 million to Halma plc, a FTSE 250 company.

In my time in the Newcastle Audit Department I worked on a wide variety of clients including Ineos, Arriva plc, Eaga (acquired by Carillion plc), Carrs Milling plc, Fenwick and various smaller privately owned companies. I took charge of engagement teams of varying sizes overseeing audits from planning stage through to completion, coaching more junior members of the team and taking an active role in liaising with clients and my seniors internally. I learn't a great deal in this role technically, as well as softer skills enabling me to build strong working relationships with clients and my teams at all levels of seniority.
